CD-11 Councilmember Traci Park has identified a potential Federal funding source to expedite critical repairs of the Lighthouse Bridge. Your signature on this petition demonstrates your support to those that will make the final determination.

The Story: The Lighthouse Bridge, built by Abbot Kinney in 1906, provides the ONLY point of beach access across the Ballona Lagoon and serves as our gateway to essential recreational and ecological experiences. It also represents a critical element of the current, albeit insufficient, emergency preparedness plan protecting Peninsula residents and visitors. 

The Lighthouse Bridge is increasingly exhibiting signs of distress and requires urgent repairs. This poses an escalating threat to community safety and beach access such as when the Bridge was closed last July 4th. The city acknowledges this challenge but is limited by current budgetary challenges, hence the effort to identify an alternative funding source.
