We are writing to express our strong support for Yuri Custodio, Esports Facility Coordinator at Conestoga College, and to respectfully ask that the college reconsider his layoff.

Yuri does far more than his job requires. Everyday he brings passion, commitment and energy to the facility. Even when Yuri isn't 100%, he is still bringing his best every single day. 

He creates an environment where students feel welcomed, supported and motivates them to succeed. He is not just staff, he is a mentor, a leader and a friend to over 100 student athletes.

His presence has shaped culture of the esports department. He helps build a community where student athletes are supported and help makes the facility a place where students genuinely want to be. His dedication to his job and the work that he does has a meaningful impact on current generations of the program and it can continue to have a impact on the future generations as well.

Simply put, Yuri is an asset to Conestoga College. Losing him would represent a significant loss to the program and the community he helped build.

We strongly encourage Conestoga College to reconsider this decision and retain Yuri his role.
