🌍 Faye’s Law – Change.org Campaign

Story / Description
Faye Rebecca Cunningham was only 27 years old when she died.
From birth, Faye showed clear signs that something was wrong. She suffered with a persistent painful rash, abnormal blood results, seizures, high blood pressure, and memory problems. Over her lifetime, she attended GPs, walk-in centres, and hospitals. Each time, she was dismissed.
Her symptoms were labelled as:
“white coat hypertension”
“normal for her”
“nothing to worry about” "Life style changes needed"
But the evidence tells a different story.
Faye had:
Stage 2 hypertension left untreated for years
Repeated abnormal blood results indicating infection and inflammation
A lifelong rash potentially linked to serious drug reactions
Cognitive decline with lost referrals to memory services and denied due to age.
A traumatic brain injury with no proper follow-up or safeguarding
In 2022, after suffering seizures at home, Faye was taken to hospital.
She was not properly monitored.
She was not given adequate oxygen.
Her deterioration was not recognised.
She went into cardiac arrest.
Faye’s death was not a single failure.
It was the result of a lifetime of missed opportunities, ignored warning signs, and systemic neglect.

⚖️ Why This Matters
Current systems allow:
Repeated abnormal findings to be ignored
Vulnerable patients to be discharged for “no contact”
Referrals to be lost without follow-up
Safeguarding failures to go unchallenged
No one joins the dots.
No one takes responsibility.

📢 What We Are Calling For – Faye’s Law
We are calling for legal and NHS reform to ensure:
🔴 No repeated abnormal findings can be dismissed without escalation
🔴 “Did Not Attend” (DNA) must NOT lead to discharge for vulnerable patients
🔴 Mandatory safeguarding when cognitive decline or risk is identified
🔴 Clear accountability for missed diagnoses and ignored patterns
🔴 Patient history must be treated as critical clinical evidence

💔 Faye’s Voice
Faye told us she was scared.
She said she was frightened to go to sleep in case she didn’t wake up.
She wasn’t listened to.
