Dear Friends of Patterson Farm,
NOW is a critical time for the public to offer commentary to the Lower Makefield Township Ad Hoc Committee about a future Patterson Farm Master Plan. The committee will meet again this Thursday September 14th via zoom at 7:30 pm and public comment will be heard. DON’T MISS THIS OPPORTUNITY. The committee is expected to provide their recommendations to the board of supervisors shortly thereafter.
At stake is the expansion of non-agricultural use on Patterson Farm that has the potential to add increased traffic to the farm and Mirror Lake Road, add light pollution, increase pavement on the farm, add noise, disruption of wildlife habitat, increased storm water runoff, expand conflicting zoning use within the Agricultural Security Area, etc., as well as PERMANENTLY halting the use of the farms’ agricultural outbuildings by local farmers, and at GREAT EXPENSE to taxpayers. Just say NO!
Please support keeping Patterson Farm CLEAN, GREEN and QUIET! There is NO need for a COSTLY conversion of the barns and outbuildings on Patterson Farm to non-agricultural use when affordable, common sense repairs will keep Patterson Farm clean, green, quiet and producing food for generations to come. A win for ALL!
Patterson FARM has served our community for 340 years. Please support Patterson Farm Preservation Inc’s (a 501c3) plan to partner with Lower Makefield Township to restore the farm for its highest and best use, and create Patterson Agriculture and Heritage Center in the now-vacant, historic Satterthwaite House. Our group will offer public programs that support farm maintenance, while fostering a connection to the earth, our Bucks County heritage, and appreciation for all of Patterson Farm’s natural benefits.
Join us in imploring township decision makers to uphold our Agricultural Security Area and plan a SUSTAINABLE FUTURE for Patterson Farm that does NOT conflict with agriculture and wildlife habitat.
Your voice, your support will assure Patterson Farm a bright future as we approach the 350th anniversary of the farms’ founding. What a proud accomplishment it will be to see Patterson Farm restored before that milestone. Tom & Alice Patterson and my Dad spent the majority of their lives enhancing Patterson Farm, now the stewardship of this majestic farm and it’s wildlife habitat is our responsibility. Future generations deserve that. Thank you for caring.
