Support fair ticket pricing for local Premier League fans

Support fair ticket pricing for local Premier League fans
The Issue
As passionate supporters of the beautiful game, AskGamblers recognise the unique cultural legacy that local fans bring to their football clubs. However, the rising prices of Premier League tickets alongside declining accessibility have started to alienate these communities.
This petition calls for actionable and meaningful reform that will protect the soul of English football—the local fan culture—from being overshadowed by commercial interests. Statistics from the FSA reveal that the price of top-flight tickets have risen by around 800% since the early 90s, making matches less accessible to local supporters than ever.
We (AskGamblers) are calling for the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) and the incoming football regulator to address this pressing issue by mandating football clubs to allocate at least a third of their tickets for local supporters.
By instituting built-in price protections, clubs can also ensure that dedicated fans living within their postcode areas can purchase tickets at rates based on each club’s median ticket price. By implementing revised prices for locals, clubs will not only preserve their rich heritage but also nurture a more inclusive and vibrant football community. We must act now to prevent further impact of this essential community bond.
Join us in urging the DCMS and the incoming football regulator to endorse measures that prioritise local fans in ticket allocations. By signing this petition, you are advocating for fairer, more equitable access to football games, ensuring every supporter has a chance to participate in the traditions that define their passion.
