Update 3: Mayor rules out equity this budget, next actions

Good Morning Folks,

We have hit almost 600 supporters, again, thanks very much for the support and efforts in distributing the petition.

This morning on ABC radio the Mayor ruled out the CCRC moving to an equitable position for Graziers in the upcoming 2023 / 2024 budget. He said the opportunity for change will be an upcoming Rating Reference group, this week the CCRC CEO confirmed the process for establishing a Rating Reference Group has commenced.

Shane Knuth has confirmed his support and will look at the situation in more detail next week.

At this point there is still an option of going to the Ombudsman, as it could certainly be argued that the CCRC don't comply with their revenue policy, that policy states they need to have an equitable distribution of their costs. It's probably a long shot but may keep some pressure on in the interim.

One thing for sure is we need to ensure the Rating Reference Group is well represented and as a Grazier group we have all the information ready to go.
