In Iran, the government has recently banned dog ownership, including keeping dogs at home or walking them in public. This policy has led to the capture, abandonment, and killing of countless dogs.
Many pet owners have fled Iran with their dogs, seeking safety in Canada. However, they face complex and expensive immigration procedures, putting both humans and animals at risk.

We, the undersigned, call on the Government of Canada to:

Simplify immigration and residency processes for dogs arriving from Iran with their owners.
Recognize these pets as family members whose lives are at risk.
Provide temporary protection, shelter, and veterinary support where needed.

As a veterinarian and a devoted dog owner, I have personally experienced the joy, companionship, and unconditional love that dogs bring into our lives. Seeing animals face danger and cruelty in their home country is deeply personal to me, as I understand both their physical and emotional needs and consider them true members of the family.
