We need you! 

Currently, the city won't allow events in Downtown Lancaster, but they are working on a policy to change that, and we need your help. This is significantly hurting the new businesses who've chosen to come here to be a part of our community, who are filling our resource void. The Downtown sits on PUBLIC LAND, YOUR LAND YOU ARE TAXED ON! Your voice is the only one that matters!

Events will ensure that downtown's success continues. Events matter because:
         -They drive traffic for our downtown businesses, so they can 
           continue providing resource for YOU (healthy food and fun!)
         -Provide a sense of belonging for the community
         -Increase revenue for the city on multiple levels, primarily by 
           attracting and retaining population.

It's time people stop hopping over Lancaster to other suburbs. Downtown and events are a significant piece of the solution. We have something good started here, and we need to fight for it to flourish. One neighbor commented that she no longer has to go to Deep Ellum and Bishop Arts, but can stay and enjoy everything right here in Downtown Lancaster. Let's keep it that way and continue to make Lancaster a community where people want to move to and stay. We need events!

Please come out this Monday, at 6:45 to the city council meeting. Sign up to speak during public comment in favor of having events and to express your hope that the city meets the requests of the businesses here in downtown. Please come on time so that you are able to sign up to speak or have a friend fill a form out for you. 

Downtown cannot exist without you or without you bringing your friends to support on Monday. Your voice matters, and together, we can make a difference!
