Support Cox Moto Farms
The Issue
update May 4, 2022: we will be launching a go fund me after the outreach from our community to help with the costly bylaw amendment process.
Recently we have started the process to legitimize our track under the Town of Erin bylaw and zoning regulations. Through this process we plan to work with the local council, riding and non riding community to develop a business strategy that allows young, novice riders to learn the sport safely while ensuring our neighbors are heard. Our process will include noise studies and implementing recommended noise reduction strategies, rezoning/amendment process (if required) and community outreach about concerns and ways to mitigate these concerns.
A little about us;
We are a family operated private motocross track that caters to riders of all levels. We have a kids track that children as young as three years old are using to develop their skills as the next generation of riders. We also have a large track where riders of all ages (and we mean all ages!) enjoy riding. We have riders that travel from 1-2 hours away to ride our track as there are no similar facilities within a 3 hour radius for them. Our track is built on our farm, which has been in our family since the 1960's. We care about this land, the community and those who live in the area. Since the creation of our track a new, tightknit riding community has been created.
Our community has very minimal organized activities and facilities for youth. We have no baseball, no swimming, no dance studios, no gymnastics. The closest facilities to Erin are often in Guelph, Georgetown or Orangeville. We feel have a place in the community and want to be here, respectfully to those around us of course.
Please help us show how important this track is to you by signing our petition. This petition will be included in our proposal to Council and related audiences.
If you are opposed to this track, please reach out to Kevin or Laurie Cox. We want to hear you and your concerns to see what we can do to address them. Also, there is an open invitation to anyone who would like to come see our facility and see the impact it has, especially on the youth riders. The kids nights are Thursdays 5-8 and we truly believe it would help you understand why this is so important to us. You really cannot understand until you see a new rider mastering a new skill celebrating with a smile on their face.
