Why I’m Running: Protecting Our Community, Defending Our Future

When my family moved to Santa Fe when I was six years old, this beautiful place became my home. I grew up on these streets, drank the water, and learned what it means to be part of a community that looks out for one another. Northern New Mexico shaped who I am, and it is the place where I chose to return to raise my own family.

But like so many of you, my love for our community comes with a deep understanding of the challenges we face. I am a victim of gang violence. I know firsthand the pain, the fear, and the systemic fractures that allow crime to touch our families. I know what it feels like to worry about the safety of your children when they step outside. As a family woman, I am running because "enough is enough" isn't just a talking point for me—it is a lived reality. We deserve neighborhoods where our children can thrive without fear, and families can feel secure in their own homes.

My career has been dedicated to protection on a different scale. After spending seven years living and working in Washington, D.C., navigating the highest levels of federal policy, I came back home to serve as a Cybersecurity Expert while being a Software Engineer at Los Alamos National Laboratory. Every single day, my job is to anticipate threats, secure critical infrastructure, and defend against complex dangers before they can do harm.

I want to bring that exact same analytical, proactive, and protective mindset to the issues facing District 3.

We cannot keep relying on reactive, broken policies to fix deep-rooted problems. We need modern, data-driven solutions to tackle crime, protect our resources, and uplift our families. I have the D.C. experience to navigate the legislative gridlock, the technical expertise from LANL to solve complex modern problems, and the deeply personal motivation of a mother who wants a safer, better New Mexico for the next generation.

I’m not a career politician. I am your neighbor, a defender of our national security, and a mother fighting for the soul of our community. I ask you to join me in building a safer, more resilient New Mexico.
