The Asian American Progressive Student Union (AAPSU) is a Montgomery County, Maryland-based organization that unifies progressive Asian American student leads to advocate for racial equity within the Asian American community. We work with other advocacy organizations to address the segregation within MCPS; promote community development, Asian American rights, representation, and increase civic engagement within Asian communities. Although founded in Montgomery County, Maryland, AAPSU is expanding to other states across the country, from South Carolina to Oregon. 

We, the members of the Montgomery County Asian American Progressive Student Union, have written a list alongside our Asian American peers with demands for inclusivity and equality in our educational experiences. We implore Montgomery County Public Schools to take these into account to make the school system a more inclusive and welcoming community. The demands list includes the following key topics:

1. Asian American Studies/Curriculum Inclusion
2. Data Disaggregation
3. Professional development and teacher education
4. Student support 
5. Staffing and hiring
6. Funding and support for student and community organizations
