Support a Future Female Pilot from West Hempstead

Support a Future Female Pilot from West Hempstead
The Issue
Ever since I was a little girl, I've dreamt of soaring among the clouds as a pilot. Instead of dolls and tea parties, I was captivated by the idea of flight, an ambition that became even more personal as I frequently traveled back and forth to Ireland. Those journeys have been more than just flights for me—they've been opportunities to visit and care for my grandfather, who now lives alone and is battling health issues. Unfortunately, many have tried to dampen my enthusiasm by telling me becoming a pilot isn't a job suited for a girl.
Despite these discouraging words, my passion and determination remain unshaken. I'm currently enrolled in the Pilot Program at Farmingdale State College, but to truly excel and turn my dreams into reality, I need financial support for flight training lessons, which can be costly. Completing these lessons at Republic Airport in Farmingdale will not only help me become proficient in the aviation field but also empower me to fly my family to and from Ireland without the financial burden of airline tickets.
Achieving this goal would not just be fulfilling a lifelong dream—it would be breaking barriers and challenging the outdated perceptions about women in aviation. By supporting this petition, you will be contributing to a future that values ambition regardless of gender and investing in a local West Hempstead student determined to make a difference.
Your support will enable me to better myself in the aviation field, help my family, and prove that with community support, we can achieve our dreams, no matter how lofty they may be. Please sign this petition to help fund my flight training lessons and take a stand for female students pursuing their dreams in male-dominated fields.
