I am writing with a pressing need that impacts the motorsport community and car enthusiasts in the northern rivers area. Currently, the lack of E85 fuel availability here is making it challenging for many of us to pursue our passion without enduring long journeys just to fill our tanks. Coffs Harbour and Tweed Heads have stopped selling E85 fuel, and as result, we have to travel 2-3 hours, often outside of our area, to purchase this specialized fuel.

The absence of local E85 fuel stations not only hampers our convenience but also affects the local motorsport industry, which thrives on this high-performance fuel. For performance-based workshops and dyno tuners, the presence of E85 is paramount. This fuel not only lowers emissions but also boosts performance for vehicles that have been modified to take advantage of its properties.

Without the availability of E85 in our area, we are missing out on opportunities to expand businesses, create jobs, and foster a vibrant car enthusiast community. The demand is evident, and the benefits encompass environmental, economic, and community aspects that are hard to overlook.

I am calling upon local fuel suppliers and the municipal authorities to consider reinstating the distribution of E85 in the northern rivers area. By doing so, we could encourage the growth of the motorsport scene, providing local enthusiasts the opportunity to stay competitive while keeping their spending local.
