Waitrose should make the first move and stop selling alt-right motivated propaganda.

The Issue

The Daily Mail and The Times (The Sunday Times), have been responsible for the many years of writing and publishing divisive news stories that have no clear intent to inform, but to stir up hatred, fear and anger in their readers. This is in contempt of the meaning of 'free press'. They have shown consistent lack of fair and unbiased reporting of events. The Daily Mail and The Times have a clear objective and that is so stir up hatred amongst minorities. We believe these newspapers are continuing down this path, as the current anger currently supports the falling demand of print media, and it currently sustains their income. These outlets are resorting to nasty tactics to anger you into spending.

The following newspapers should no longer be on sale at proud and open-minded outlets.
- The Daily Express
- The Daily Mail
- The Sun
- The Times
- The Sunday Times

We believe Waitrose and Partners have a strong ethos on what they sell. We believe that Waitrose should stop selling several of these newspapers to send a strong message to the press and media, that their choice of words will not be tolerated and their mission of spreading xenophobia, racism, sexism and homophobia, will not take place in their outlets.

We must be clear, this is not a violation of Freedom of Press. Press are still accountable for what they put out. Years before the 2016 referendum, the above newspapers took part in led and divisive articles; enabling the destructive referendum and rise in violent crime. Supermarkets must now take a stand and realise they are enabling these outlets to spread their hate. We call for Waitrose to make the first pivotal move and temporarily suspend the above newspapers. Until a legal enquiry has cleared the fraud.
