To build a full-sized hockey capable ice rink, as well as creating both adult and junior teams

Ice hockey is a growing sport in the UK, and with the closure of so many rinks recently, it's growth has been hampered significantly. Ice hockey is a fast and exciting sport, and doesn't get enough coverage here in the UK. Me and a friend started this petition as hockey fans, as people who enjoy the sport, and it has recieved support from a vast amount of professional and recreational hockey players in the UK. It might suprise many people, but Great Britain has a proud history and heritage in terms of ice hockey, and is one of the few winter sports we've won an Olympic gold in, as we won the gold in 1936. With a bit of investment, British hockey can once again challenge on the world stage.
Smaller towns than Ipswich, such as Chelmsford and Blackburn both have succesful teams and prospering rinks, so why can't Ipswich? The local economy and the town in general needs a boost, and with the Snoasis project falling through, which could well have bought world class winter facilites to the region, we should still continue to look to bring a rink to the area. We need your support in order to get the people who can make this happen actually happen, and you should sign the petition to improve and help grow one of the most exciting sports in the UK.
