battery cages are an outdated, cruel, inhumane and barbaric way to produce eggs and the practice needs to be stopped. The only way is to get people to stop using them. The same goes for chickens raised in small barns and enclosures so tightly packed together they can't even flap their wings and are forced to stand, lie down and feed in their own waste. Produces unhealthy birds, many of whom die of disease long before slaughter.
