It has been 12 tumultuous months for students, parents, and teachers alike. It has been 12 months since student have sat in a classroom, and above all; it has been 12 months of rising rates anxiety, paranoia, and depression in our community. Despite this, our Board of Education has gone ahead, without any type of public vote, to essentially implement a "spyware" into our public schools.

"GoGuardian" is an "educational technology company" which claims to have the mission of "making schools safer." What does GoGuardian do? The software would allow teachers to, "close tabs for students, send messages to students, and LOCK students' screens." Now despite this being an obvious overreach of power and an egregious example of technology, yet again, marring student's lives even further, the district insists this software is to make school "safer." 

Students have been through enough, and we will not sit back idle and have another blow be dealt to us. We are REFUSING the implementation of "GoGuardian" in our schools.
