Stop Sexual Assault at Penn State

Stop Sexual Assault at Penn State
The Issue
Signing this petition is a signature to implementing a required bystander training and sexual assault education course here at Penn State. We have a bystander training course called Stand For State but not enough students are hearing the lessons taught in this seminar because it's not frequent enough to reach 40,000 students.
You may believe that this isn’t a problem that directly affects you. You may be thinking you can’t do anything about it because you're not a victim and you’re not a rapist. But you’re wrong, sign this petition. Let's get this issue noticed. Victims must be heard.
Penn State was rated number one in sexual assault reports from 2010-2012 and that number raised by 20% in 2016. A University Park Centre Daily News Study reported that more than 2/3 of those who experienced unwanted sexual contact felt that reporting their case would, “cause more trouble than it was worth” and about 15% did not believe justice would follow.
We can't continue to silence the problem we have here at Penn State. We may not be able to stop sexual assault on a global level, but it’s on us to "Stand for State."
(This bystander training course will not be provided by Stand For State, but I do believe getting the school's attention is important).
