Southeast Missouri State University's meal provider (Chartwells) is in the process of modifying the dining services for students. Here's what you should be worried about...

1. The use of your student ID will not be removed, but paying for a specific amount of meals will be. They want to create a "block plan," which strictly uses flex instead of meals. Students will be allotted a set amount each week on their student ID (similar to flex).

2. Favorite restaurants like Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Starbucks, and Subway will only be able to be purchased with flex.

3. Towers will no longer be a buffet-style dining option.

4. Students will be required to purchase a protein, three sides, and a drink.

5. Guest meals? Gone.

6. Rowdy's will have a new salad bar.

Does this seem fair? Why isn't Chartwells taking action towards food quality? Change is great for everybody, but this change is restricting the accessibility of the dining halls to students. If we don't speak up now, this change will affect students for their remaining time on campus and future generations to come. We need to come together as Redhawks and be heard.
