Mumbai University: Online Mode of EXAM should be applicable for the current semester.

The Issue

Since the colleges are forcing students to join colleges with just 2 months remaining in the semester, it will be really difficult for every student to arrange accomodation, in a very short span of time. Also almost in every colleges, syllabus is 70-80% is completed, and teachers are rushing to complete the syllabus anyhow before the reopening of colleges, so there is no point to disturb the current mode and cause a trouble to everyone which will affect alot especially to the outstation students.
Also the Covid-19 pandemic is not over yet, we don't know whether there will another surge of covid cases, or a new variant will evolve with more or less severity,there are various news coming in of different variants of omicron, with recently B.A.2 variant more severe than the current variant, also Deltacron cases are being reported, so the situation is very bad and a confusing one. It's pointless for us to make these arrangements so urgently. And what if Covid cases again start rising from next month. Do we again pack our bags and go home?
We even got to know how the students of whoom colleges are started offline are attending offline lectures. No social distancing is being maintained at college campuses and even at one college when the unit test was conducted, they were sitting close to each other without wearing masks,not even the authorities are following Covid protocols,this indicates a reckless behaviour from students as well as from the authorities and shows a high risk situation.
Also we have seen the symptoms post omicron infection like brain fog,shortness in breadthing,anxiety,etc, so it will be a dangerous situation for students as we will be having unit test and term end exams as well and there are high chances of students getting contracted to Covid infection.So for the current semester,Online mode need to be applicable especially for the outstation students.
Help us take this demand to the respected CMO,Chancellor,Vice Chancellor,and all the Heads of the teaching departments of the University.The administration should ensure an equitable learning environment for all students.
