Let ALL Class Of 2020 Seniors have an Outdoor Social Distance Graduation!

Let ALL Class Of 2020 Seniors have an Outdoor Social Distance Graduation!
The Issue
Hello all! My name is Taylor Contarino and I recently wrote an article that I have entitled “Message From A Senior.” I have sent this article to a number of legislators, news stations, and other New Jersey Citizens in a fight to earn the closure and milestone that my fellow classmates need. We are fully, and enthusiastically, prepared to tackle every mandate the CDC requires in order for us to get the High School Graduation Ceremony that we deserve. In addition to this, I recognize that some students may be uncomfortable with attending a live event during these circumstances. These students should have the option to opt out of the ceremony, and enjoy the virtual ceremony instead, if this is what they desire. We also understand if no audience is permitted, and our family members must watch from home a “Virtual Livestream.” We are more than okay with this, as our goal is simply to end our journey together, as the Class of 2020.
A High School Graduation Ceremony is a milestone that everybody deserves. The Class Of 2020 has worked too hard and is way too resilient to lose out on this one final piece of closure to finish out our Senior Year Strong. If you have any comments or questions, please refer to my letter as I attempted to tackle every obstacle and explain thoroughly why I believe a real life Graduation Ceremony is necessary. We do not mind waiting until July or August to have this celebration- we simply want to end the school year on a HIGH note and close out the last twelve years of high school on a dignified and proper note. PLEASE help us in our fight to graduate high school the traditional way, while also aggressively following CDC safety precautions. We are your future. Please instill your faith within us.
