I am a student at the National College of Art and Design in The Liberties, Dublin, Ireland. Like many of my peers, I struggle to afford accommodation. Our college has stated that it doesn't think student accommodations are worth investing in. This affects countless students who are forced to make difficult choices between their education and basic living needs, or often forced into impossible financial situations.

The cost of living in Dublin is one of the highest in Europe. Many students have to work every part time jobs every afternoon, leaving little time for studies or creative pursuits. This situation is not sustainable and it's time our institution recognizes this.

We urge the National College of Art and Design to reconsider its stance on student accommodations. By providing affordable housing options, our college can ensure that all students have equal opportunities for success - regardless if they come from wealth or not.
