Stop BP from Drilling for Oil in Our Whale Sanctuary
5 years ago, BP caused one of the biggest oil spills in history in the Gulf of Mexico. Now BP wants to drill in a sanctuary and nursery for Southern Right and Blue Whales in the Great Australian Bight. Add your name to the list of people telling BP: “Stay out of Australian waters!”
Nestled between Adelaide and Perth are the majestic white cliffs of the Great Australian Bight.
This rugged coastline is home to some of the cleanest water on the planet. So important is this pristine ocean, it has been protected as a whale sanctuary and nursery. But now BP wants to turn our ocean into an industrial zone.
These wild seas are no place to drill for oil. The organisation responsible for giving BP the go-ahead, NOPSEMA, is currently deciding whether or not to approve this dangerous project.
Tell Stuart Smith, the head of NOPSEMA, to say ‘No’ to BP.
