Thank you for being here. Your signature today on this petition will potentially be life changing for predator species like wolves, coyotes, foxes, bears, mountains lions etc…in the state of Wyoming. Also, your signature here gives “Spirit” AKA “Hope” the wolf pup a voice so that she did not die in vain at the hands of Cody Roberts.

I am an animal advocate and wildlife rehabber who has dedicated over 35 years of my life to protecting the voiceless. Recently, a horrifying incident involving a young wolf pup in Daniel, Wyoming, has underscored the urgent need for stronger wildlife protection laws in Wyoming.
Cody Roberts, a resident of Daniel, gained worldwide attention after he brutally tortured and killed a 9-month-old wolf pup. This innocent creature was run down with a snowmobile, her muzzle bound tightly with duct tape, and she was subjected to prolonged torment before being mercilessly killed.

This shocking act of cruelty highlights the gaps in our current legislation that leave predator species like wolves vulnerable to such abuse. In Wyoming alone there are approximately 328 wolves (as per U.S Fish & Wildlife Service's report in 2019). These magnificent creatures play an essential role in maintaining ecological balance but are often victims of brutal acts due to lack of specific protective laws.

We must ensure that such atrocities do not go unpunished and serve as grim reminders for the need for change. We urge lawmakers to amend Wyoming's wildlife laws by implementing stricter regulations specifically designed to protect predator species from torture and abuse.

It is time we give voice to those who cannot speak for themselves; it is time we take action against such brutality towards our wildlife. Please sign this petition urging lawmakers to strengthen Wyoming's wildlife protection laws today!
