STOP EXPLOITING ZERO HOUR CONTRACTS

STOP EXPLOITING ZERO HOUR CONTRACTS
The Issue
Help those with zero hour contracts to be treated fairly.
A zero hour contract is a contract between the employer and the worker. The employer is not forced to give minimum hours to the worker nor is the worker forced to accept the hours set. People with this contract do have statutory rights.

Many of Sports Direct, Deliveroo and Cineworld employees face quite a lot of disrespect and unpaid hours just because they have a zero hour contract. The number of zero-hour contracts rose by 100,000 in 2017 and there are around 900,000 workers in the UK who don’t know how many hours a week they’re going to get. This is an outrage.
Workers say at Sports direct: “Those on zero hour contracts come into work to be sent home when the company doesn’t make enough money that day. Managers treat you based on how you affect their bonus and they manipulate your hours based on their personal favourites.”
Workers say at Deliveroo: “I had no shifts for six months with them not even caring that I had no money for my four month old child. I am always so stressed financially. I also got no support or compensation whatsoever after I sustained a traumatic injury, leaving me with no income."
Workers say at Cineworld: “You won’t get your rota until the day before! They keep trying to cut off our hours at every opportunity, not caring that if we can’t pay out bills. I can’t continue like this...”
‘The flexibility in the zero hours contract often works only for the employer which is ruthlessly exploited. Shifts get cancelled at the drop of a hat.’ Give people minimum hours that they can rely on. They too have a personal life to keep up; raising children, paying rent etc. We are facing an injustice and unfair labour, we must have our say.
Send a tweet, DM (direct message), email or find another way in which you can contact these companies to try make a difference for those who are on zero hour contracts. Use this hashtag #stopexploitingzerohrcontracts. Once this petition hits 100 signs we will send continuous emails and formal letters to each companies CEO's and Local MP's in order to make them change these unfair treatments using proof of zero hour contract exploitations.
Let’s help each other to understand and end precarious contracts. #callthemout #ihavetheright
