The Issue

I was once Washington State's first Reengage Father nominee award winner, a title that carried immense pride. However, my world shattered when false allegations, fueled by a social worker affiliated with the Office of Public Defense, led to the unjust removal of my daughter. The lies, perpetuated without solid evidence, have not only taken her away but have left deep scars—physically, mentally, and emotionally.

The Department of Children, Youth, and Families (DCYF) has chosen to uphold these fabrications, ignoring the harm it inflicts on me and the family life we've built. Their reliance on text messages and circumstantial evidence to tear apart our family is both unjust and damaging. It is personal because it cuts into the very fabric of my identity as a father and the joys of fatherhood that have been ripped from me.

The judiciary's leniency towards slanderous testimonies without factual backing has made it nearly impossible for me to defend my innocence. My court-appointed attorneys have either been indifferent or unwilling to act, pushing me into a corner where hope is barely a flicker. This negligence may culminate in my daughter being permanently adopted away on the 21st of this month, a loss my heart cannot endure.

We cannot allow the legal system to condemn parents without verifiable evidence. It is essential to ensure that every claim is substantiated with concrete proof before drastic actions like family separations are enforced. I urge you to join hands in demanding that the judiciary adopts firmer protocols for evidence in family courts, averts reliance on unconfirmed claims, and fosters justice for families wronged by such practices.

Please sign this petition to call for reforms in how the DCYF and the court system handle allegations, ensuring that both truth and justice prevail for the sake of preserving families. Make your voice heard and help protect family bonds that are at risk of being unjustly severed. Every vote counts towards creating a fair system rooted in integrity and factual clarity.
