The Issue

Who is Impacted?

The residents of Livermore and the entire Alameda County region are at an elevated risk of wildfire. Despite being in one of the highest fire-risk areas of the state, we lack the necessary resources to respond quickly and efficiently. Families, businesses, and emergency services are all affected by this gap in fire protection, and we’re relying on temporary solutions that are not sustainable for long-term safety.

What is at Stake?

If we do not secure a permanent firefighting base in Livermore, we may lose vital aviation resources that could prevent small fires from becoming catastrophic. With Cal Fire, CHP, and East Bay Regional Parks Police eager to bring helicopters and emergency teams to Livermore, we have the chance to improve response times and better protect all of Alameda County. But without a permanent facility, these lifesaving resources may go to other regions, leaving our community vulnerable.

Why is now the time to act?

There is a limited window of opportunity to secure these essential resources for Livermore. If we don’t act quickly, our community will lose the opportunity to establish a firefighting base. Every day we wait is another day we risk losing homes, lives, and land to preventable wildfires. We need to come together now to ensure that Livermore and Alameda County are protected for the future.
