Virginity checks goes against human/women's rights. It is degrading for women and strips them off of their basic humans rights. There is no scientific evidence that can identify the differences between a virgin and a non virgin. These procedures are carried out by untrained "professionals" who claim to know what an intact hymen looks like. They do not possess any educational degrees that backup their knowledge. Women are considered unworthy for marriage in the Mandaean community and stripped off of their values. Whether she is a divorced woman, a victim of sexual assault, or a woman who has chosen to refuse the check. This is unfortunate as their wedding ceremony will differ to the women who have been identified as virgins. It is a form of concealed sexual assault and we need to rise up against such atrocious religious practices before it gets worse. Men are only checked for circumcision but not questioned about their virginity. The whole purpose of this is to apparently make sure that both beings (the couple) are whole and their bodies have not been tampered with as they will face judgement before god and the priest's priesthood is not questioned... i do not stand for illegitimate practises that belittle women and objectify them as a piece of tissue that tears so easily. Women are not their hymens and their purity does not rely on an act that procreates. STOP VIRGINITY CHECKS
