Stop Violence by Extremist Groups in Bangladesh: Hold the interim Gov Accountable.

Stop Violence by Extremist Groups in Bangladesh: Hold the interim Gov Accountable.
The Issue
We urgently call for action against the ongoing violence perpetrated by Jamati and Hefazatul extremist groups in Bangladesh. These radical forces have launched illegal and brutal attacks on prominent figures, including the former Chief Justice of Bangladesh, A H M Samsuddin Chowdhury Manik. While being escorted to court by police, he was violently assaulted, resulting in a ruptured scrotum. He is now fighting for his life in the hospital.
In addition to this heinous attack, these extremists have also murdered Ishaque Ali Khan Panna, the former General Secretary of the Awami League. His lifeless body was discarded in a jungle, a grim reminder of the dangers faced by those who oppose these groups.
The threat extends beyond these two individuals. Thousands of high-ranking officials, politicians, academics, and liberal citizens, including teachers, media staff, artists, and former activists of the Awami League, are living in constant fear. They face the risk of being falsely accused, arrested, tortured, or even killed by these extremists.
Despite the severity of these crimes, the interim government of Bangladesh, led by Dr. Mohammed Yunus, has failed to take decisive action to stop this brutality. Disturbingly, the government has released Islamist terrorists from prison without proper court approval, further emboldening these violent factions.
We need your help to end this inhumanity. By signing this petition, you are calling on the international community, human rights organizations, and the Bangladeshi government to:
1. Ensure the safety and security of all individuals targeted by these extremist groups.
2. Hold the perpetrators accountable through transparent and lawful processes.
3. Pressure the interim government to take immediate and effective measures to control and dismantle these criminal networks.
Let us stand together to protect the lives and rights of those who are under threat. Sign this petition to demand justice and safety for all who are targeted by extremist violence in Bangladesh.
