Stop Verizon Towers on Belmar Beach

The Issue

Verizon Wireless is about to spoil the face of Belmar beach for 35 years without listening to the overwhelming objections of residents who do not want these plans to go forward.

Verizon plans to erect 20 "small cell towers" that will be over 30 feet tall, with the option to add an additional 5 feet, on the east side of Ocean Avenue, amounting to one tower per beach avenue through the entire length of Belmar.

Per the settlement, Verizon acknowledges that they may have to do work on these towers during the summer, further disrupting our use of the beach.

If other neighboring municipalities do not need these towers, neither does Belmar. Verizon's plans are excessive, disruptive and disrespectful to our community and our treasured natural resources.

We ask Verizon to stop all plans and to work with the community to find a solution that does not involve placing ugly towers on our beach.
