The Van Buren Housing Authority (VBHA) has taken control to an unprecedented level. Executive Director Dayna Cochran now asserts that VBHA does not need to inform us when we are being recorded in our own homes. As residents, we are told that we do not have a constitutional right to a reasonable expectation of privacy within our own walls. This is an alarming breach of trust and invasion of privacy.

The VBHA's tactics have escalated into intimidation, harassment, and fear-mongering. They operate with total disregard for laws, procedures, or the rights of residents. It feels as though they've created a prison-like environment within our community.

According to the Fourth Amendment of the U.S Constitution, every citizen has the right against unreasonable searches and seizures in their homes (Cornell Law School). Yet it seems this fundamental right is being violated by those who should be protecting it.

We demand transparency from VBHA and an immediate stop to unauthorized recording inside residents' homes without their consent or knowledge. We call upon local authorities and lawmakers to intervene on behalf of us - the citizens whose rights are being trampled upon daily.
