Stop DCFS from child trafficking our children!Unlawful removal of children #4th amendment

The Issue

As a mother who has experienced the traumatic removal of my children by DCFS, I am calling for a change in policy that would give every mother the right to decide whether or not their children can be removed by DCFS.
Brokaw v. Mercer county 7th cir 2000 children removed are seizures under fourth amendment seizure is unconstitutional without court order or exigent circumstances court order obtained based on knowing false info violates our 4th amendment! Just as women have the right to choose whether or not to have an abortion because it is their body, mothers should have the right to choose when DCFS can and cannot remove their children. Our bodies and our children are ours, and we should have control over what happens to them. Delays can infringe upon parents rights and disrupt stability of family unit.

According to data from Child Welfare Information Gateway, there were 676,000 cases of child abuse or neglect reported in 2016 alone. While it is important for authorities like DCFS to intervene in cases where children are truly at risk, too often they remove children from loving homes without just cause.

In fact, a study by The Chronicle of Social Change found that up to one-third of all foster care placements may be unnecessary. This means that thousands of families are being torn apart needlessly each year.

Mothers who love and care for their children should not live in fear that they could be taken away at any moment by an overzealous government agency. We deserve better than this.

Therefore, I am calling on lawmakers and policymakers across the country to give mothers the right to decide when DCFS can remove their children. Let us protect our families and keep them together whenever possible.

Join me in signing this petition today! In order for Dcfs cases to not be opened more programs need to assist low income families which are more likely to get involved in the system! Before we judge the next single mother how about we see from her point of view all the distress and responsibility she has on her shoulders! Housing assistance transportation and shelter should be prioritized to mothers as a type of prevention program.
