As medical device sales representatives, we are required to maintain credentials through third-party services to access healthcare facilities and do our jobs. These credentialing services are meant to streamline compliance and ensure patient safety. However, the skyrocketing costs of these services-without clear justification or added value-are placing an unfair financial burden on professionals in our industry.

One of the most egregious examples is Reptrax/Symplr’s recent price increase, which raised its annual subscription fee from $385 in 2024 to $600 in 2025, a staggering 56% increase in just one year. These increases far outpace inflation and are not accompanied by any noticeable improvements in service, efficiency, or value.

We, the undersigned, demand the following:

1. Transparency: Credentialing services must clearly outline why price increases are necessary and what improvements (if any) justify them.

2. Fair Pricing: Price hikes should align with industry standards and inflation, not arbitrary or excessive increases that place financial strain on professionals.

3. Alternative Solutions: Hospitals and healthcare systems should consider supporting multiple credentialing providers or alternative verification methods to foster competition and prevent monopolistic pricing.

4. Advocacy & Dialogue: We call on industry leaders, professional organizations, and hospital administrators to address these rising costs and advocate for fairer, more reasonable credentialing policies.

This is not just about one company, it is about the broader issue of unchecked credentialing costs that disproportionately affect those of us on the front lines of healthcare innovation and patient care. If we don’t take a stand now, we risk seeing these costs continue to rise unchecked year after year.
