Stop Unfair Litigation Against Tiny Home Residents in Carleton North

The Issue

My family and I, along with other families in the district of Carleton North, have come under threat due to the District council's decision to use taxpayers' money to take us to court. Our crime? Living in tiny homes on shared properties with our relatives, a choice we made to support each other during tough times and to mitigate the effects of a severe housing crisis in our province. Our intergenerational, communal living situation is not just a means to save money; it's a valuable way of nurturing bonds, sharing responsibilities, and crafting a joyful life together.

Despite the evident housing crisis, the council seeks to remove our tiny homes, disregarding the positive impact that this sustainable and affordable housing option has on community members like us. Tiny homes have been acknowledged as a viable solution to housing shortages globally.

The council's decision is not just a threat to our homes, but an assault on our values, dignity, and the very fabric of our community. A community that believes in helping one another, enjoying life together, and creating a supportive environment for our children.

We appeal to the residents' sense of justice, urging you to sign this petition to stop this unfair litigation and defend the right of residents to choose their housing. Stand with us in advocating for affordable housing solutions and uphold the true spirit of Carleton North. The essence of which is, communities supporting one another.
