Tesla owners are facing hundreds to thousands of dollars in repair bills—through no fault of their own. It’s time for Tesla to acknowledge and fix this issue.

Tesla’s Active Hood safety mechanism is designed to protect pedestrians during severe impacts. However, many owners have reported the system deploying unnecessarily, even when the vehicle hits small animals such as cats or dogs—incidents that are far below the hood line and should not activate a pedestrian-protection system. Tesla has built its reputation on innovation, safety, and customer trust. We believe Tesla can and should do better by addressing this widespread problem responsibly.
