President Trump’s new executive orders gut critical regulations, fast-track nuclear reactor construction on public lands, and greenlight expanded uranium mining — all to power AI data centers. This is a dangerous step backward for public safety and environmental responsibility.

Rushing nuclear development for the sake of corporate profit and technological competition ignores the real risks: radioactive waste with no long-term disposal solution, the threat of nuclear accidents, and the irreversible damage to federally protected lands.

Instead of investing in safer, faster-growing renewables like solar and wind, Trump’s orders prioritize a high-risk energy source with a history of disaster. The pressure to meet artificial intelligence energy demands should not come at the cost of our health, land, or future.

We urge Congress and state officials to push back against these executive orders. Demand transparent review, protect public lands, and prioritize truly clean and sustainable energy solutions.
