Neighbours, we have officially reached 380 signatures. Thank you for your unwavering support.
The Latest: As many of you saw in The Herald today, the Metro is facing a massive fiscal crisis with R22.6 billion in arrears. More importantly, it has been confirmed that the City has spent only 34% of its infrastructure budget and is at risk of losing R1.2 Billion in grants.
The Silence: Our petition was personally handed to Gary van Niekerk, and the COO ordered a response by last Friday. That deadline was ignored.
Our Stand: While political parties are now calling for National Treasury to intervene, our mandate remains the same: We are non-partisan residents demanding basic service delivery. We don't care about the political "brownie points"—we care about our water, our lights, and our safety.
I have formally notified the Provincial Government in Bhisho that the Metro has failed to meet its own deadline. We are now part of a much larger conversation about the future of this City.
Onward to 400!
