Dear Neighbours,

As we mark Human Rights Day, the "right to basic services" feels like a distant memory in Ward 6. We have reached 323 signatures, and the evidence we are gathering for Monday’s handover is now undeniable.

The latest MPAC (Municipal Public Accounts Committee) report and Council updates reveal:

  • Financial Negligence: The Metro owes over R60 million to the electrical contractors who keep our grid stable.

  • The Funding Gap: There is a R24 million shortfall for pylon refurbishment because funds were diverted for "political visibility."

  • A System in Crisis: Only 38% of critical city posts are filled, explaining the slow response to the 21-day blackout and the new Melsetter Road burst this morning.

We are no longer guessing why the lights are out and the pipes are bursting—we have the numbers.

We need 27 more signatures to reach our 350-name mandate. Please sign and forward this to your street groups now. We hand this over in 48 hours.
