Stop the War on Iran— Choose Diplomacy

Stop the War on Iran— Choose Diplomacy
The Issue
Stop the war. Protect human life. Choose diplomacy.
With profound alarm and moral urgency regarding the escalating war on Iran, we call upon the United States government to take the following immediate steps:
1. End the U.S. war against Iran.
2. Pursue an immediate ceasefire
3. Work with allies and the United Nations to de-escalate the conflict & protect civilians.
4. Recommit to diplomacy to prevent nuclear proliferation and regional escalation.
The current military campaign has already brought immense human suffering and threatens to ignite a wider regional catastrophe. Bombings and retaliatory strikes have killed civilians, displaced families, destabilized neighboring countries, and placed millions more at risk. What began as a limited military confrontation has rapidly evolved into an unpredictable regional war with global ramifications.
So far, the war has destroyed civilian infrastructure, homes, medical centers and schools. Millions are displaced and by UNICEF's account, more than 1100 children have been killed or injured so far in multiple countries.
History shows that wars in the Middle East do not remain contained. They expand, draw in neighboring states, deepen humanitarian crises, and leave lasting scars across generations.
The American people have witnessed the devastating consequences of past wars— from Iraq to Afghanistan. Those conflicts cost countless lives, billions of dollars, and decades of instability. We must not repeat those mistakes.
Military escalation will not bring security. Bombs cannot build stability. Violence cannot produce democracy. War is only deepening the political chasms that have divided the people of the Middle East for decades.
Continued military action risks:
- Catastrophic civilian casualties.
- The Islamic Republic’s increasing repression & violence against the Iranian people.
- Impeding the Iranian people's struggle for democracy & self-determination.
- Regional war across multiple states, religious and ethnic groups.
- Global economic disruption.
- Further erosion of international law.
- Long-term instability that will harm both the people of the Middle East and Americans.
The United States must lead— not through destruction, but through diplomacy, restraint, and a commitment to international law.
The people of America, Iran, Israel, and the entire region deserve safety, dignity, and peace— not another generation traumatized by war.
We urge you to act now— before this conflict spirals further out of control.
Stop the war. Protect human life. Choose diplomacy.
