Stop the VPP Incorporation Scam: Demand Action from the Indian Government
The Issue
The VPP Incorporation scam, also known as the Postal Value Payable System scam, is a growing threat to small business owners in India. Scammers are taking advantage of a loophole in the postal service's Value Payable System, which allows them to send thick books labeled as required material from the Ministry of Corporate Affairs to newly incorporated companies. Out of excitement, many new entrepreneurs subscribe to these parcels by paying a premium, only to later discover that they have been scammed.
The Ministry of Corporate Affairs and the Registrar of Companies have made it clear that they never send parcels through VPP or demand payment through such models. However, scammers continue to exploit this system, sending parcels labeled as "Books for Your Company" or "Check Lists for Directors of Companies" to unsuspecting individuals.
The impact of this scam is devastating to small business owners, many of whom invest their life savings and take on significant debt to start a business. Falling victim to the VPP Incorporation scam can result in significant financial losses and even bankruptcy.
We must take action to put an end to the VPP Incorporation scam and regulate the VPP system better and scammers accountable. By signing this petition, we demand that the Indian government takes action to protect small business owners from this growing threat.
Together, we can make a difference and create a safer and more just environment for entrepreneurship in India.
