Every signature is a voice for justice and safety. Your unity has already made a real difference. Thank you for standing up for our shared community.

In recent weeks, the Eastgardens incident and a series of youth violence cases have made many of us ask: How can we make our homes and streets safer?

As the person who started this petition, I am just an ordinary resident who loves this city and worries for our families. I have asked myself: Is there anything more we can do—other than worry and stay silent?

That’s why a group of parents, workers, students, and seniors came together and registered Guardians of Neighbourhoods Inc. (GON Inc.)—a grassroots, community-run group. We are not politicians or professional activists. We are ordinary people, united by a simple belief: Our community deserves safety and respect.

 
Why are we marching?

• Community safety comes first. Every person—no matter their age or background—should be able to live without fear.
• Justice must be fair and equal. Youth violence should be addressed by law. We stand firmly against any form of racial hatred or discrimination.
• Diversity and inclusion. We support multiculturalism and demand zero tolerance for hate crimes.
• Transparency and equality. Everyone deserves the right to know and to speak up; no one is above the law.
• Shared community effort and mutual respect. Genuine safety is created when residents collaborate, treat each other with respect, and offer help when needed.
   

A Rare Chance—Let’s Not Wait for Another Tragedy
This is a rare moment where our voices are truly being heard. If we miss this opportunity, it may take another terrible incident before so many people unite again. We march not just for ourselves, but for every future victim we hope to prevent.
If you care about these issues, please don’t stay silent. Join us—and invite your friends and neighbours too. The louder our voices, the more likely decision-makers will listen.

Every signature is not just a number—it’s a show of care for victims, a hope for safer communities, and a collective call that “enough is enough.”

Eastgardens事件和近期一系列青少年暴力案件，让很多人都在思考：我们到底能为社区的安全做些什么？

作为这份请愿的发起人，我只是一名普通居民，也和大家一样担忧着家人和邻居的安危。我常常问自己：除了担忧和沉默，我们还能为彼此多做些什么？

正因为如此，一群由家长、职员、学生、长者等普通志愿者，共同注册了社区组织Guardians of Neighbourhoods Inc. (GON Inc.) 我们不是政客，也不是“专业活动分子”，只是出于对家园的责任感，愿意站出来。

 
我们为什么要游行？

• 社区安全高于一切。 每个人，无论身份、年龄、背景，都应远离恐惧，安心生活。
• 以法律手段捍卫公正。 青少年暴力必须依法应对，一切仇恨犯罪、歧视言行都应坚决反对。
• 尊重多元文化。 我们尊重多元，坚决要求零容忍仇恨犯罪。
• 法律面前人人平等。 每个人都有知情权、发声权，没有人能凌驾于法律之上。
• 社区团结与互助。 只有居民相互尊重、携手合作，才能建设真正安全有爱的家园。

 机会难得，不要等到下一个受害者出现

这一次，大家的声音终于被听见了。如果我们现在不发声，或许下一次能够再次集结这么多人的时候，已经又有新的受害者、又有悲剧发生。我们不是只为自己而走，更是为了阻止未来的伤害。

如果你关心这些问题，请不要缺席。邀请你的家人和朋友一起来，让我们的声音更响亮，让决策者真正重视！

这次请愿能够得到如此多人的关注和响应，真正值得感谢的，是每一位愿意签下名字、愿意关心的人。这份请愿的意义，不在于是谁发起，而在于成千上万人的共同认同和支持。
