The verge is implementing a PREDATORY parking policy that imposes serious threat to the social wellbeing of our community- a community that is already deeply effected by price gouging, unprecedented destruction from hurricane Helene and a historic recession. 

A community primarily comprised of working class individuals and college students struggling to make ends meet are being forced to PAY UP TO $17 A DAY for visitor parking, which makes hosting guests virtually impossible. 

Management has imposed this policy mere months after lease renewal with no prior warning, VIOLATING lease agreements— many among us would have NEVER resigned leases if we had prior knowledge of this egregious, offensive scheme. This policy WILL deeply impact our community, and imposes serious threat of overcrowding and illegal street parking in the surrounding Montfort neighborhood. The impacts of this issue extend beyond the verge residents to the city of Asheville and its residents. 

Our community URGES the VERGE ASHEVILLE & their management the SCION GROUP to STOP THIS POLICY FROM TAKING EFFECT. Our parking lot is typically empty- residents reserve the right to freely WELCOME guests and host social gatherings without the TYRANNICAL IMPOSITION OF UNFAIR PRICE GOUGING.
