Stop the Unreasonable Increase in Property Tax in Westmoreland, TN

I, like many fellow citizens of Westmoreland, TN, am opposed to the proposed property tax increase. The increase comes as a burden to us who are already trying to make ends meet in a tough economic environment. If implemented, this tax hike is poised to cause undue stress on many households, possibly leading to bankruptcy due to the added financial responsibility.

According to the Tennessee Housing Development Agency, the average property tax for our county has been steadily climbing, significantly outpacing the median household income growth. This discrepancy further adds to the financial strain on our homeowners.

We urge our local officials to reconsider this tax hike. We understand the need for funding public services, but there must be a more equitable solution. This proposed tax increase will hurt most of the citizens of Westmoreland, many of whom are retirees on a fixed income or families living paycheck to paycheck. Remember in governance, the voices of your constituent’s matter. We are those voices and refuse to let this tax hike push us further into financial strain.
