Stop the United States from invading Greenland

Stop the United States from invading Greenland
The Issue
Dear Fellow Americans and Allies Abroad,
The strength of the United States has never rested on power alone. It has rested on our ability to lead—by building alliances, honoring our word, and defending a rules-based international order that makes our nation safer and more respected.
That is why any suggestion that the United States should invade Greenland must be rejected outright.
Greenland is part of the Kingdom of Denmark, a sovereign nation and a founding member of NATO. An invasion would not be a strategic maneuver—it would be a direct violation of the very alliance we helped create. NATO is built on a simple, powerful promise: an attack on one ally is an attack on all. If the United States breaks that promise when it is inconvenient, we undermine the credibility of the alliance itself.
NATO is not a burden on America; it is one of our greatest strategic advantages. Our allies provide intelligence, access, legitimacy, and collective strength that no nation could match alone. When NATO is strong, America is safer. When NATO is weakened—especially by our own actions—our adversaries benefit.
Greenland is not unclaimed land. It is home to people with their own government, culture, and right to self-determination. Treating territory as something to be taken by force revives a colonial mindset the world has worked hard to leave behind. The United States already maintains strategic cooperation in Greenland through agreements with Denmark—proof that diplomacy works without coercion.
Military force is not a shortcut to strength. It is costly, destabilizing, and often irreversible. When peaceful cooperation achieves our security goals, choosing force only damages our reputation and risks unnecessary conflict.
For generations, the United States has argued that borders cannot be changed by force. We cannot credibly defend that principle abroad if we abandon it ourselves. American leadership means holding ourselves to the same standards we ask of others.
This is not about weakness. It is about wisdom.
Defending our alliances, respecting sovereignty, and choosing diplomacy over aggression is how America remains strong, secure, and worthy of global trust.
Our power matters—but our principles matter.
Sign this petition to stop any potential invasion of Greenland and uphold the principles that make us proud to be wise stewards and allies that honor our pacts with the countries we build allegiance with.
