On Monday the 22nd of April the City of Irvine tore out the nearly complete Temporary dog park at Oak Creek Community Park. They are still debating what is next. They did make changes to their webpage on the Oak Creek Park Project. Notable changes are the removal of the the Temporary dog park plan for Oak Creek Community Park, and the statement to stay tuned. They imply that a Temporary park will be built to get us through until sometime in 2025 when the Permanent Dog Park is planned to be completed.
I have changed the petition to reflect this change by shifting our primary goals, and also increase the focus on the foundation of the Irvine Dog Parks Association. I have no experience founding dog park associations so I found a webpage that had a 1-2-3 we will go through as a group once we have plenty of interest and have set a time and place for the event. It has to be a group thing, and while I am putting a lot of effort into this, I need help. Having been communicating with the City of Irvine about this for 3 years I clearly see the need for us organizing for a better result. Among us Dog Park supporters are lots of people with a variety of talents and contacts that can help with our mission. If you have a talent, skill, or contacts that can help, please let me know.
