This petition is made to stop and reduce the length and frequency of advertisements on all platforms. A 30 second unskippable ad on Snapchat, when there is already an ad every 30 seconds is completely ridiculous. The fact that you are shown an ad every 30 seconds is already completely unnecessary. Especially as we are shown the same 1-2 ads for weeks at a time. Studies also show that shorter ads are much more effective and drawing for the consumer than the longer ads. And sure, there is always the option on every platform to not see ads, but nobody can afford to spend $7+ on every single app and game they have downloaded. We are told and re told that we should spend less time on our screens, but it makes it challenging to do so when an extra 5 minutes is added to my 20 minute YouTube video. I understand that these advertisements are in place to earn money for creators, and for companies to make themselves known, but at this point it has become excessive and could very well be considered as spam.
