Stop the shutdown of Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt. Enable P2P Play.
The Issue
Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt may be a niche Battle Royale game, but it has carved out a unique space in the hearts of a dedicated community. While many were captivated by mainstream titles like Fortnite and PUBG, Bloodhunt drew me into its take on the World of Darkness with its distinct charm and engaging gameplay. As a longtime fan of Vampire: The Masquerade and other White Wolf Products, I found joy in transforming my character creations from the game into NPCs for Chronicles I ran. The streets of Prague became my haunting playground, where I, and a few other likeminded friends, relished the competitive thrill of a fast-moving Battle Royale set in a city-wide Camarilla Bloodhunt.
Recently, it has come to our attention that the existence of this beloved game is under threat of being shut down. On April 28th, 2026 - marking the four year anniversary of the game’s release - the game’s creators Sharkmob will be not only shutting down the servers, but purging all services and game data pertaining to Bloodhunt. This decision poses a significant loss not just for me, but for all who have found solace and excitement in its unique landscape. We understand that maintaining online servers can be costly, but there is a viable alternative that could safeguard the future of Bloodhunt without excessive financial strain: enabling support for Peer-to-Peer (P2P) play.
P2P play would allow players to host their own games, ensuring that even if official servers go dark, the community will continue to thrive. This move would empower players, giving them the tools to keep the game’s spirit alive and forge new memories in the haunting world of Vampire: The Masquerade.
The developers and publishers over at Sharkmob have an opportunity to reinforce their commitment to fostering this incredible community by investing in features that will ensure its longevity. By supporting P2P functionality, they would not only preserve a game adored by many but also demonstrate an understanding of, and appreciation for, the needs of their devoted fans.
I urge you to consider the impact of losing Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodhunt and call on your compassion and understanding to keep our community thriving. Help us save a game that has touched many lives and continues to bring people together across the globe. Please sign this petition and join us in preserving Bloodhunt for current and future players alike.
