LETTER/EMAIL TEMPLATE

Dear [Hendersonville City Council Member],

I am writing to respectfully urge you to vote NO on the proposed rezoning of the property located at 1741 Haywood Road.

This development raises several serious concerns for our community:

  1. Traffic Impact: The addition of 181 housing units will significantly increase traffic volume along Haywood Road and the surrounding areas. This will not only cause congestion but also pose safety risks for residents, pedestrians, and emergency responders.
  2. Safety Concerns: The proposed development includes only one entrance for all 181 units. This is a major safety issue, especially in the event of an emergency where access or evacuation could be compromised.
  3. Environmental Impact: The property borders Brighton Creek, and the scale of development raises legitimate concerns about stormwater runoff and potential harm to the local watershed and ecosystem.
  4. Lack of Affordable Housing: The housing units being proposed do not meet the affordability standards that our community needs. We must prioritize developments that offer truly affordable options for working families and individuals.

For these reasons, I strongly believe that this rezoning proposal is not in the best interest of Hendersonville residents and urge you to vote against it.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely,
[YOUR NAME]
