Stop the REVIVE Act!

Stop the REVIVE Act!
The Issue
Governor Kathy Hochul and Albany extremists are once again pushing legislation that would put high-density housing in suburban areas. This new bill, known as the REVIVE Act, seeks to fast track housing developments without any input from local zoning authorities.
The legislation would enable the redevelopment of so-called “underutilized” commercial properties into high-density housing. The broad definition of “underutilized” would include shopping centers, office parks, parking lots and more. What’s more, the bill would impose strict approval timelines in an effort to move projects forward without sufficient local oversight. If municipalities fail to act within the designated timeframe (typically 60-90 days), developments – regardless of their impact on infrastructure, traffic, schools, or the environment – will receive automatic approval.
Hempstead Town Supervisor John Ferretti recently went to Albany to bring the fight directly to lawmakers. Standing alongside representatives from across New York State, Supervisor Ferretti blasted the REVIVE Act, calling it yet another power grab from Albany that would force multistory buildings into single-story neighborhoods.
The Town of Hempstead has long demonstrated it's ability to responsibly manage growth while preserving suburban quality of life. Sign this petition to tell Albany we want LOCAL Control, not HOCHUL Control.
