Stop the Removal of German and Latin from LISD

The Issue

The Lewisville Independent School District (LISD) is planning to remove German and Latin from its curriculum, depriving students of valuable opportunities to learn these important languages.

German is the most widely spoken native language in Europe, and learning it can help with many career opportunities. Latin forms the foundation for many modern languages and provides critical insights into history. Removing these programs will limit students' education and competitive edge. Many students have found a home in the districts language classes and losing them would hurt students greatly. Removing German and Latin would limit the districts offerings to only ASL, Spanish, and French

The districts’ Latin and German clubs have gone to state and won many awards. They have won numerous first place prizes and are carrying on the legacy of world languages.

Please sign this petition to urge LISD to keep German and Latin as part of their language offerings!
